Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2011 Pushpika Sandamali De Silva, who returned to the island last week after taking part in a training stint in India , is scheduled to leave for Egypt on Saturday. Since winning Sri Lanka's most prestigious beauty crown in 2011, Pushpika has been having a busy schedule. Taking part at the Miss World 2011 in London she was selected for the semi-finals of the mini pageant - Beauty with a Purpose. The stage is set for Top Model of the World 2013 which will be held for the 20th consecutive year - from March 16 to 31. The grand finale of the pageant will be held on March 31 in El Gouna, Egypt.Nearly 60 countries will take part in the competition organised by the World Beauty Organization, an international company based in Panama City, Panama.
The Sunday Observer is bound to be the print media partner of Miss Sri Lanka 2011 as she targets in bringing more glory to the country.
The Sunday Observer has also been the official print media partner of the Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World from the year Pushpika won the 'crown'.
